Your first Slotbound runs
Build around a unit you want to keep, then use new summons to improve it. Learn the reel-to-army loop first, compare Imprints with the offered level gain, and use each unit’s own promotion panel to plan the next step.
Learn the loop before chasing a rare unit
The official demo describes an auto-battler defense game: your preparation decisions build the army that fights enemy waves. A missed rare summon does not mean the run has no useful next decision.
For the first few runs, learn one unit’s growth before making Jester your only objective. It gives you a manageable way to understand the decisions you can control.
Decide what you want to keep
Read the recipient before sacrificing the donor. Look at its current class, level and useful effects. Then compare the incoming unit or offered Imprint with the levels shown in the conversion prompt.
A support effect can be a reason to keep a unit even when your immediate goal is growing another one. Ferret Tamer’s Courier, for example, reduces an ally’s remaining skill cooldown; it is a different contribution from simply adding levels.
Use the current input help
The official 0.4.0 update adds keyboard and controller support. Use the binding shown by your current game for the action you need. Before dragging a unit, check whether you are moving it or opening an absorption choice; cancel a prompt if you have selected the wrong recipient.
Choose the next guide by the problem
- I need a new class
- Read the current unit’s promotion progress, then compare the named class and traits.
- I need an awakening
- Read the unit, level and highest awakening together. Ringmaster’s checkpoints are 30, 60 and 100.
- I cannot fit the army
- Resolve the current extra-unit situation, then inspect Command Limit for permanent capacity.
- I cannot see factions
- Check the faction meta-upgrade purchase before the next first promotion.
These are separate checks. A new class, a stronger current unit and a permanent unlock can all be useful, but one does not automatically complete the others.
