Grow the unit you keep

How to absorb units

Choose the recipient you want to keep, then use the expendable unit as the donor. In the absorption prompt, compare the offered Imprint with the displayed level conversion before confirming. For a level checkpoint, calculate from that displayed gain.

Keep the recipient, spend the donor

DonorThe unit you are willing to give up.
Absorption promptCheck the recipient and the choice before confirming.
RecipientThe unit you are building toward a class or level checkpoint.
The direction matters: start by identifying the unit you intend to keep.

tankanidis’s July instructions describe picking up the weaker unit and dropping it onto the stronger unit with absorb mode enabled. The resulting prompt can be cancelled if the target is wrong. Use that pause to confirm the recipient rather than committing from a hurried drag.

The historical instructions distinguish absorb mode from ordinary unit movement. Check the mode shown by your current build before dragging a unit you only want to reposition.

Compare the effect with the level gain

Choose levels when the displayed gain helps the checkpoint you are targeting. Choose the offered Imprint when you want its effect on that recipient. Read the actual text and gain each time; there is no universal +8 conversion.

AfterLevel 32, then Awakening I.
Dabble’s concrete conversion crosses the stated level-30 awakening checkpoint.

The conversion example shows why absorption levels, Class Promotion and Awakening should be read separately. A class target uses the current unit’s promotion progress. An awakening uses a unit-specific option and level requirement.

When a full army blocks the next spin

If the machine shakes red after receiving another unit, inspect the army and any extra summon. In the July thread, the accepted answer says absorption resolves that full-army state; another player notes that units can overlap and hide the extra one.

Move units carefully to see what is present, identify the donor and recipient, and read the absorption choice. Capacity figures from that older thread are not a current limit table.
