Read the offered effect

Keep the Imprint or take the levels?

Keep an Imprint when its displayed effect serves the unit and army you are building. Convert it into Absorb levels when the shown gain is more useful for your next checkpoint. For a near awakening, compare the exact gap before choosing.

Start with your current goal

What do you want from this absorption?
The offered effect

Read the Imprint and keep it when it fits the recipient.

A level checkpoint

Compare the shown conversion with the levels still needed.

Choose from the actual offer and the unit’s goal; neither side is always the better choice.

The official demo presents random unit stats and Imprints as parts of army building. Treat an incoming effect as a specific offer, rather than assuming every copy of a class has identical value.

Our default for a recipient just short of a known awakening is to check the level conversion first. The reason is concrete: a gain that crosses the checkpoint may open the next selection immediately. Change that choice if the offered effect is the reason you want the absorption.

Use the displayed arithmetic

In Dabble’s run, Ringmaster is level 24 and the conversion reads Absorb Lv +8. Taking the levels produces 32 and opens Awakening I. The unlock checkpoint is 30, so the choice crosses it rather than defining a new threshold of 32.

The Imprint offer is Relentless I Combo Speed, with Convert to Absorb Lv +8 underneath
The two alternatives on one prompt: keep Relentless I, or convert the offer into the displayed +8 levels. Cancel remains available. Open the image at full size ↗

Later, a shown +2 takes Ringmaster from 59 to 61 and opens Awakening II. Read both the current level and highest awakening already chosen before comparing the next gap.

Read an effect before giving it up

  1. Target: does the effect apply to this unit, an ally, or another part of the setup?
  2. Timing: when does it activate, and does that fit the problem you are solving?
  3. Alternative: what exact level gain is offered instead, and does it reach a useful checkpoint?

These are reading checks, not claims that every Imprint shares a slot limit or inheritance rule. Use the prompt’s own effect text; the observed conversion does not establish a universal inheritance or level formula.
