Frame drops, crashes or a blocked spin?

For crashes or frame drops, first check that Steam has applied the available demo update: 0.4.1 specifically addresses those issues. For a red, shaking slot machine, inspect the army and extra-unit absorption decision before treating it as the same problem.

Red, shaking machine

Inspect the army for an extra unit and pending absorption.

A stability failure and an unresolved army decision need different checks.

The official 0.4.1 announcement lists frame-drop and crash fixes. That gives a clear reason to check the available Steam update; it does not guarantee that every device-specific problem has the same cause.

For a crash or low frame rate

  1. Check the available update in Steam. Compare your installed demo with the official announcement rather than an old guide.
  2. If it persists, verify the installation. In Steam Library, right-click Slotbound Demo → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. Let Steam finish the check.
  3. Report a repeatable issue. Include what happened, the demo version if shown, and the actions immediately before the failure.

The hotfix directs ongoing bugs to the game’s Discord or Steam Community Hub. The Steam discussions are a public place to check or report the specific failure.

Do not assume a particular graphics setting, launch flag or driver change is a universal fix. Start with the update and file check, then describe the remaining symptom.

For a red, shaking slot machine

Look for an extra unit when the army is full. In the July blocked-spin thread, DavidBeckham7’s accepted reply says absorption lets the machine spin again. ElaNinja adds that an extra unit can be hidden behind another one.

Inspect the battlefield, choose the unit to keep, and resolve the donor/recipient prompt carefully. This is a reported game-state explanation, not proof that every shaking machine has the same cause.
